Today Year 3 visited the magnificent Bowes Museum. We spent the day building on the things we have learnt in class about the Stone Age. Did you know the Stone Age is the name given to the earliest period of human culture when stone tools were first used?

In the morning we studied objects including a cave bear skull, a quern stone, an iron age spear head and a bronze age coil pot:


 


 

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon we created our own coil pots:

   

Finally we decorated them:

   

We enjoyed ourselves so much that the day seemed to fly by! A big thank you to all the accompanying adults who helped to keep us safe.
