Today our Year 6 and Reception children ‘buddied up’ for a visit to the Washington Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. The visit was a special reward for the fantastic way that the buddies have worked together and helped each other through the year, and was a lovely way for the Reception children to say goodbye to their Year 6 partners before they head off to secondary school.

The visit was perfect – we had fantastic behaviour from the children, two excellent workshop leaders, lovely volunteers and, best of all, the sun shone on us! We enjoyed some pond dipping and mini-beast hunts; watched the otter family and the flamingoes have lunch; fed some ducks and geese; and had a great time on the park.

All in all, a lovely day with lots of nice memories to take home with us. Thanks to all who came with us to support our visit.
