On Thursday 1st October Year 5 and Year 6 had a visit from Patricia, Natalie and ,of course, Buddy from the NSPCC.

Meet Buddy from the NSPCC

They led a very helpful and informative assembly, reminding us that every child has the right to feel safe and happy, and that no type of bullying or abuse is ok. We reminded ourselves of some adults who we might be able to tell if we felt at all worried about anything or we had something to share. Buddy and the ladies also helped us to learn the Childline phone number – 08001111, and also showed us the website where children who need help can find more information and chat to a counsellor on a secure chatroom – www.childline.org.uk/buddy

Patricia and Natalie also talked to us about how important it is to share our worries and that when we share them with someone who can help, it can help us feel better.

If you know of anyone who is suffering from any kind of abuse or bullying, or it you are suffering yourself, please talk to a trusted adult such as your parents or an adult at school, or use the childline number or website. Encourage them to seek help so that they do not feel alone.
