Looking at a Dragon Fly

Looking at a Dragon Fly

Reception and Year 6 had a fantastic day together at the Washington Wetlands Center. We decided it would be nice to spend some quality time with our buddies, and it couldn’t have been a better day! Our wardens, Cath and Jason, kept us busy on mini-beast hunts, pond dipping, flamingo feeding and watching Musa and Mimi, the otter pair who have just had their first baby – Squeak.

Year 6 had a great day taking care of their Reception partners and enjoying their enthusiasm and wonder at the animals they saw. They were so grown up – it made the adults’ day so much easier having them there! The Reception children were excellent listeners and clearly enjoyed having some time with their special partners. The wardens were so impressed with the way the children interacted with one another that they actually emailed Mr Armstrong to tell him!

Thank you to our volunteers, Beth Ellis, Mrs Lumsden and Mr Walton – we hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did!
