On Thursday Year 5 had a busy day out. In the morning we went to the Shipley Art Gallery to look at and create containers using recycled materials.
These containers are made from cereal boxes and supermarket carrier bags!
We cut a carrier bag into one long strip and wove it around the card from the cereal box.
Then we went to the ISKCON Hindu temple where we had dinner and learnt about aspects of Hindu culture.
We were surprised to find out that the temple was originally a bank.
We are eating rice, a tomato based curry with peas and curd, and an Indian bread called puri.
Bethany models how to wear a sari.
Francesca volunteers to have her face painted with a flower design.
Jamie is wearing a traditional Indian turban and he has the aum symbol painted on his forehead.
